Fred Mae products are sustainably and ethically produced in Portugal. I worked with a manufacturer whose focus is also sustainability and all the materials used are locally sourced. They are committed to imprinting a very low carbon footprint whilst producing high quality products. Each collection is produced to a high quality, with limited quantities supporting the slow fashion movement. My manufacturer values the environment as well as the people who they work with and have a range of certifications. These include the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 Class 1 providing the use of non-toxic substances and BCI - Better Cotton Initiative, making cotton production better for the people who produce it as well as the environment.

-Packaging

All packaging is eco-friendly made from recycled, biodegradable and carbon neutral materials. The swing tags are made from recycled paper and the string is recycled natural cotton which are both biodegradable, compostable and recyclable. My thank you cards are also made from recycled paper, as well as the logo stickers which are added to your package so you know it's from Fred Mae! The mailing bags used to ship your orders are produced from a by-product of sugar cane and grown on reclaimed wasteland which has no impact on the rainforest, making it one of the greenest materials on the market. There is no compromise on the strength or quality and they are fully recyclable!
